Amplifier works with fresh batteries really well. After a week of 4 hour a day use, the sound gets lower and lower until you replace the batteries again. The strap and the headphones are very cheap. Strap broke in two weeks after purchase.

Arrived on time, in good condition. Very surprising how small it was. My first thought was poor quality because it was so tiny and flimsy, but it works good. Very loud, but it squeals if you turn it all the way up. Speaking at a moderately low tone, you could be heard clearly from at least a couple hundred feet away, if its turned up almost all the way. The headset is a bit small for the head and not adjustable. It did not come with a charging cord or batteries, but it only takes 6 AA, though you have to pop out the battery holder to get all 6 in. The adjustable belt fit, but it probably wouldn't fit a lot of people, because it was small and did not have a lot of room for adjustment, as if it were made for a small child instead of adults. Came with zippered carrying pack to hold the equipment. Comfortable, lightweight and effective.

It was a surprise to see that this product requires 6 AA bateries (not included in the package, of course). It does not have a 9V rechargeable battery as I was led to believe from the product descriptions. The battery charger is not included.
Amozon should specify this product correctly as: AC/DC charger is not included. Requires six AA batteries (not included).

I was recently looking for an item to complete a Halloween costume and stumbled upon this hip amplifier through Amazon. While it was one of the more inexpensive units, I didn't need anything fancy.
The product works as advertised with no difficulties in use at all. At 3/4 volume setting, it was more than loud enough in noisy environments (e.g. loud bars and a big party bus).
The headset is relatively comfortable and the speaker is not heavy on the hip.
The only issue I had (which others have mentioned in reviews) was the insertion of the AA batteries.
It takes an extra minute to figure out how the battery panel comes out but you won't break it if you tug on it hard.
